The Edgewater

This morning we went to 67, a restaurant in the Edgewater Hotel downtown Seattle for our traditional Sunday brunch. Not only do they have an amazing special, $25 a person for a 3 course meal, but the food was absolutely fabulous. The service was great, the view was fantastic and the atmosphere was intimate and delightful. Fun fact about this place: The Beatles stayed at this hotel on one of their tours and fans would jump into the harbor to try and see the band members after the hotel had been closed off for the duration of bands' stay.

If you find yourself in Seattle head down to the waterfront and try this place out. It was the perfect place to have an intimate little brunch, dessert included and necessary.

Yogurt Land

You know, I don't what it is, but for whatever reason I have been so exhausted after work every day. There is nothing laborious or really stressful about sitting at a desk all day, but after I leave that office I just get so tired and I crave something sweet! So today I finally treated myself by buying frozen yogurt and few girly magazines.

I started off with the coconut frozen yogurt and layered it with the blueberry lychee summer flavor. I topped it off with chunks of mochi and mini birthday cake pieces and added a few little lychee pearls. The perfect cold sweet treat to finish off a long (honestly not that hard) day of work.

By the way, Seattle reached a high of 73 degrees today! Not bad for the first day of summer. I have renewed faith in this city of mine :)

Homeward Bound

The boy and I went home last week to celebrate my baby sister's graduation! It is ridiculously crazy how fast life goes by and I am so proud of her for finishing one part of life as such a strong person and for moving forward into the great big world!

We also spent the day in Portland when we went home, an absolute necessity. Portland is such a unique city and it has its own vibe and feel to it that you will not feel anywhere else! We did some shopping, walked along the beautiful waterfront and through the city until we found a delicious little oyster bar to stop and eat lunch at.

Travis ordered crab cakes and shucked oysters (the oysters sounded a little skeptical to me as he told me they would be served raw after he had ordered them!) ...But I tried them anyway as the adventurous one that I am.

The oyster was not as bad as I thought it would be and I swear I swallowed the whole thing. After eating lunch though, I decided that I needed something sweet to counter the raw and salty oyster and so I insisted that we head over to the famous Voodoo Doughnuts and grab a dozen to take home.

I highly recommend the "Old Dirty Bastard." A cake doughnut topped with fudge, mountains of Oreos and peanut butter! If you find yourself in downtown Portland Voodoo Doughnuts is a must.

Everyone should have a place to share their thoughts, ideas, experiences...so I thought I would get on the blog train.

Here's to a new beginning, new memories and new experiences!
