Homeward Bound

The boy and I went home last week to celebrate my baby sister's graduation! It is ridiculously crazy how fast life goes by and I am so proud of her for finishing one part of life as such a strong person and for moving forward into the great big world!

We also spent the day in Portland when we went home, an absolute necessity. Portland is such a unique city and it has its own vibe and feel to it that you will not feel anywhere else! We did some shopping, walked along the beautiful waterfront and through the city until we found a delicious little oyster bar to stop and eat lunch at.

Travis ordered crab cakes and shucked oysters (the oysters sounded a little skeptical to me as he told me they would be served raw after he had ordered them!) ...But I tried them anyway as the adventurous one that I am.

The oyster was not as bad as I thought it would be and I swear I swallowed the whole thing. After eating lunch though, I decided that I needed something sweet to counter the raw and salty oyster and so I insisted that we head over to the famous Voodoo Doughnuts and grab a dozen to take home.

I highly recommend the "Old Dirty Bastard." A cake doughnut topped with fudge, mountains of Oreos and peanut butter! If you find yourself in downtown Portland Voodoo Doughnuts is a must.
