Good and the Bad

So I bought these incredibly cute new flats to wear to work. Good.

After arriving to work 20 min later I had huge blisters from my brand new shoes (that I had been patiently waiting for to arrive in the mail for over a week). Since I work at a hospital walking around bare foot is a definite no-no, so they gave me these beauties to wear the rest of the day. Needless to say, i was the most stylish person at work that day. Bad.

On a better, and yummier, note, we made fresh spring rolls last night!
So delicious!
The insides to our spring rolls!

The prettiest one we made. Not up to restaurant par, but I think it's pretty dang good.
Also, I've been waiting all week to eat this new mountain blackberry ice cream! As you can see, I got pretty excited about it.

Have a great weekend

Blues in the Sun

Despite the beautiful sunny days we have had in Seattle this past week (finally!) I have had a little onset of summer blues due to some stress. No worries, today I reminisced through some of my life inspirations and thought I would share them with you.

Mi familia

Kosmo is the newest member of our family, along with his sister Cleo, but he loves to be in front of the camera, therefore the world's largest camera may never produce a picture of our sweet Cleo.

He has been my Mr. prince charming for over a year now.

Foodie! Trying a new restaurant can honestly make my week. If I find a great new place I swear I'll rave about it for a month until I get the chance to go back.

Oxfords :)

Crazy for crepes

I have been planning/fantasizing about two big trips that I plan on taking in the near future. One of them is to Bali at this lovely resort pictured above. I hope to reenact Eat Pray Love while laying on the beach.

The other trip I hope to take is to Vernazza, Italy. Gorgeous isn't it?

Zoo Day

Everyone who know me knows that I have not yet had the pleasure of my womb aching for a little baby, but rather for a kitten. Yes it's true. If I had not already found the love of my life I would be sitting in a small apartment by myself with tons of little kittens. Though I must admit, I still have an obsession and a longing to have a little baby kitty to cuddle at night. Thanks to a friend, I have found a refuge in Seattle who rescues only kittens and then tries to find loving homes for them. I have been looking at all the little kitty profiles online and have fell in love with this little one.

His name is Oreo. And if you are interested in adopting a little one of your own in the Seattle area you can find the shelter at this link here http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/WA347.html.

However, today I did get to quench my want of a kitten urge a little when I went to the zoo, though the kitties were slightly larger. I apologize for the poor quality as I only had my Iphone handy.

 A real-life Emu!

The otters like to impress us with their kissing skills... I say we have reason to be jealous, only because they are so darn cute
 Arctic Fox

We were pretty lucky to meet this guy. He came tumbling out of his cave right as we walked up and he  was holding a bouquet of flowers, which he eventually devoured right in front of us, and a popsicle.

There were many more animals, however, there were also hundreds of little children running around taking up a lot of viewing and photography space. Obviously this confirmed to my womb that children are not in my near future. I think I will stick with my little kitten(s) in the long wrong.

This is the most exciting thing that I have done this weekend, except for the adventures that will ensue tomorrow when my best friend arrives! Until then.

Tapas!

It's been over a week, I know. That probably matters more to me then to you. Nothing too exciting has happened that I can report except for the fact that I have officially decided that I am a foodie.
Last weekend we went to this little whole in the wall Spanish tapas bar right in the heart of Belltown.
To be honest, I never would have thought to check the place out, but the boy really wanted to try it and thank heavens he did because it was a lovely treat to start the weekend off and we will definitely be going back!
We started off with the bread plate paired with oil and a bruschetta topping.

Then, we ordered a meat plate with candied nuts. The prosciutto was amazing

Lastly, we ordered bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese, which was my favorite. They were so yummy that we had to order two of them!

The restaurant itself has a unique character with a wall devoted to Elvis and some pretty cool artwork. The lights are dim and the atmosphere is just smoky enough that it would be a great date night out. The bar is also well stocked and they cook all the food right behind it so you can see your meal being prepared. I hope to find more little hole in the wall places like Pintxo all around Seattle this summer.
